Lord Tebbit,Conservative Minister

Lord Tebbit was a minister in Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's cabinet.I was reading his interview in Financial Times and was impressed. His wife was disabled permanently after 1984 IRA attack and he takes care of her for the last 25 yrs of his 53 yrs of marriage.He wakes up twice every night to turn her over to avoid bed sores. He takes his marriage vows seriously. " I take the view that you never know ,do you,when you say those words,'For better or worse,in sickness or health '.You do not know what the future holds." He is not one of those politically correct types who says forget , forgive and healing nonsense even when one should not. He refused to participate in BBC 4 programme to take part in healing " having no taste for the modern appetite to massage away the atrocities of the past with an oily love-in and apologia." He sees this type of British attitude as symptomatic of the weakness,decadence and lack of resolve in modern Society. He is an old time conservative of Thatcher era and does not like present Conservative leader David Cameron for steering Conservative Party to the middle. I disagree with his staunch stay as it is conservatism.That is no win programme.Principles are important on core ideas,but as the society changes, one should adopt as Blair did to Labor Party. I watch David Cameron every week and he is impressive and would love to see him as the Prime Minister of Britain after next elections.

Delhi high court ruling of Gay sex

Delhi High Court ruling decriminalizing gaysex is not to my liking,neither do I want the police break the bed rooms of adults and drag them into jail cells.I remember going to a concert long time ago in the Central Park,New York and people booing gay guys walking around.Now it is no big deal in New York.That is what I do not want to happen in India.Let us keep the way things are and not to encourage gay life style.It is not just another life style and not like a man and woman relationship.Man and woman relationship has more meaning than physical pleasure.

Lunch with Financial Times:

Every Friday,when I pick up The Financial Times, I look for who would be at Lunch with The Financial Times( Regular column in the weekend Financial times). It is kinda reality TV. It is elaborate,intimate and very interesting. I may put aside the whole paper if I do not have the time,but I would religiously read that.The recent Lunch guest was the principle conductor and artistic director of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Simon Rattle. He was in the South of France for a concert. They were talking about Germans and British.According to him,"Germans have an understanding of history and cannot allow themselves to forget it".British tabloids caricature Germans as humourless.English are self -deprecating,looking down on themselves,insular but flexible.Germans are very Deutsch- we know better. Germans are never frightnened to tell what they think unlike British. "German sounds are so clear and articulated but it is not allusive".Germans take irony as sarcasm. English are indecisive,but after making a decision,they they will go through with it,but Germans are like to be decisive, and then change their mind. "Germnas are most emotional people on the planet. The necessity for rules and strictness is a way of dealing with an enormously powerful impulse". German precision also comes from that emotion to avoid chaos.English culture is of inhibition and restraint whereas German culture is emotional.Very intersting of people and cultures.

Sad Plight of Sri lankan Tamils

Thousands of Tamilians were killed since January and about 300,000 Tamils were kept in refugee camps in Vavuniya district.They were kept behind barbed wire and guarded by soldiers.Sri Lankan Government restricted access to international relief agencies. A son from Canada that went to see his mother and relatives could not get access to them in a refugee camp and returned back to Canada.Ban Ki-moon appealed for unhindered access to refugee camps. But Mr.Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka, did not respond.He might have won a military victory but he would create more militants if he continues this ill treatment of innocent Tamilians.Tamil civilians suffered from both Tamil Tigers and Sri Lankan Government. He can not create a harmonious society in Sri Lanka with his hard line policy against Tamil civilians.This type of attitude from Sinhalese majority created Tamil Tigers and they can not suppress the minority for ever with discrimination and ill treatment of innocent people.
Western Governments and international organizations are demanding more access to refugee camps and even trying to influence IMF from providing millions of dollars to Sri Lankan Government.But India, the regional power ,is doing little to force SriLankan Government to give access to refugee camps.It wants a permanent seat in the Security Council,rightfully so. But its silence about what is happening in Myanmar and Sri lanka is shameful and disgraceful.It has to stand up for something more than its political interests all the time.
Prime Minister Dr.Man Mohan Singh,Mr Clean, has stated that his government is embarrassed over unnecessary prosecution of Italian Ottavio Quattrocchi and its effect on India from International community for ill treating foreigners.Who is is he trying to fool? Who Is Mr.Quattrocchi? His patron and benefactor, Sonia Gandhi's Friend and Prime suspect in Bofor's scandle in which Sonia Gandhi's family was implicated. But international community do not see India's cowardly policy in Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

India, a Nehru family Corporation

Haiti, a small ,poor country in Americas has one thing that is proud of which India ,a sub-continent can not even dream of . It has been an Independent country since 1804 while India was a colony of a tiny Island country,Britain. Columbia,Venezuela,Elsalvador and other small South American countries defeated their European aggressors and bacame Independent countries while Indians happily ,some colloborating with their foreign oppressors ,playing along with their racist masters.Lots of people were happy to become babus and run erands for their British masters.It has been the way India was and probably is. Some great leaders came along ,fought and gained independence at last.Nehru family members were among them.After Independence,Nehru ran the country until 1964,then came Indira Gandhi,Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi took over the family corporation and running the country. She hired Mr.Manmohan Singh to run the country until her son becomes palatable for Indians to become dynastic sucessor to his father,grand mother and great great grand father.Recent elections is the first step to that end.What a great people!!!!!

If I were Indian.........

If I were Indian,I would vote for Bharatiya Janata Party to make Mr.L.K.Advani, the PrimeMinister,the same way I would vote for David Cameron of British Conservative Party, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, President Alvaro Uribe of Columbia.Another reason is, I am never a monarchist, and Congress Party is nothing but a Nehru family Fiefdom. Whatever Nehru family did to India during the freedom struggle,India gave back to that family more than it deserves. Congress Party politicians mostly are a bunch of sycophants with no philosophy or principles.These politicians are dependent on Nehru family for their survival and that family use these people to run the country.Bharatiya Janta Party is a national conservative party.It ran the country before and did as efficiently as possible in a big diverse country as a member of coalition.India is great because of its diversity and no party can discriminate a major minority and survive.Leftist liberal media day in and day out call it a communal party,anti-Muslim and anti-minority.BJP actions in Government proved that it is a responsible national party.But there is too much false propaganda against it.

Gypsies or Roma in Eastern Europe

"As economic Turmoil Mounts,So Do Deadly Attacks on Hungary's Gypsies" is a headline in New York Times.It did not surprise me as I read a lot about the plight of Romas in Eastern Europe.I did not read or hear much about them when I was in India.After I came here,I saw them here and there, and wondered about their appearance. They look like Indian and read that they moved from somewhere in Rajasthan to Europe long time ago. Romas are one of the groups that face discrimination as a group.They are concentrated mostly in Hungary,Slovakia,Czech Republic,and Romania.Their economic situation is horrible.They do low end jobs and in some countries live in separate enclaves.They are being treated as outcasts.Their houses are firebombed,burned and they are shot at. According to this news report,these attacks in Hungary may have been carried out by police officers and military personnel.Eastern Europeans experienced so much oppression during communist rule and I thought that they are more tolerant to other groups.I met people from Hungary,Slovakia,Czech Republic and Romania.They are very friendly and wonderful people.They date and marry other people from different back grounds.But when it comes to Romas,their attitude is quiet different.These people think that Romas depend on public welfare funds and do petty criminals acts.Some of that may be true,but discriminating all the Romas ,instead of finding solutions,do not change the situation.

Hooray to Miss California

I can not write enough of how much I admire Miss California for her strength,character and personality.Ms. Carrie Prejean,Miss California, answered at the Miss USA pageant held on Sunday in Las Vegas to a question from one of the Judges that the marriage is between a man and a woman.The gay judge who asked the question called her a bitch and showed what an intolerant creature he is.Miss California showed class on talk shows and he showed on his blog what a small,intolerant and nasty creature he is.Gay marriage has become a holy cow and a litmus test to judge a man's openmindedness in Gay and leftist liberal circles.It is like calling a person a racist and antisemite. This small group is intimidating the majority of people in America from expressing their beliefs. It is politically incorrect to oppose gay marriage.Marriage has been a union between a man and woman for centuries and should remain so for all the time to come.

Hero worship

Journalists rose up and clapped President Obama after his News Conference in London.Women in France were so Happy to reach and touch him. One lucky woman even got a chance to kiss his cheek.Europeans are thrilled that Mr.Obama is American President.God! It looks like Messiah has come and all our earthly problems would be solved soon.Would it be wonderful if he is the President of Europe! Four years ago, he was an unknown state Senator in Illinois,before that he was a community organizer in Chicago.Then he became a Senator,not any legislative achivements because he was on the road all the time,after becoming Senator,running for Presidency. He is a great communicator. He did not run anything and hope he would learn to be a reasonably good executive and help America get out of this economic mess we are in.But hero worshipping like God is silly,ridiculous and stupid.

"Brit masses mourn working-class princess" is a headline in one of the New York news papers referring to Jade Goody, a foul mouthed, brash and uneducated woman that became famous after appearing in a reality show "Big Brother" and for her racist remarks to actress Shilpa Shetty. I am sorry she got cancer,died at an early age ,leaving two young kids.It is sad. But making it as mass national mourning!!!!!! Goodness Gracious!
